The Artist is a son from the second crop of Mayakovsky. Mayakovsky was an outstanding horse who destroyed a 55 year old track record in his first start - which happened to be at Saratoga. In his second start, he was nipped at the wire in the Grade 1 Hopeful stakes by a horse named Came Home. Mayakovsky also won the G-3 Gotham stakes at Aqueudct. His dam, Cam's Art Model was an impressive horse herself, but never made it to the races because of an injury. We are very familiar with her and both of her babies and the quality they display. Her first son won his first race easily at Belmont (MSW) and came back to finish third in an allowance against two horses who came back to win stakes. Her second baby is a filly who will be making her first start very soon and is very impressive. She has been training great and has some very good speed. We expect her to be an early winner. The Artist is her third baby. He is very impressive in every way and we are excited that we are able to offer him to you for your consideration.
